For anyone that loves spaghetti and meatballs, this is one dish that will make them very happy. If you have anyone in your family that thinks they don’t like spaghetti and meatballs, then they definitely haven’t tried this recipe yet.
1 1/4 pounds of ground sirloin
2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup of Italian bread crumbs
1/4 cup of grated Parmesan
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
Salt and pepper
2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp of crushed red pepper flakes
4 cloves of garlic, crushed
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 cup of beef stock
1 28-ounce can of crushed tomatoes
A handful of chopped flat-leaf parsley
10 leaves from fresh basil leaves, torn or thinly sliced
The first thing that you will want to do is to preheat your oven to 450 degrees. Then you will want to mix your ground sirloin, Worcestershire sauce, egg, bread crumbs, cheese, garlic, salt and pepper together. Now you will want to roll the meat into 1 1/2 inch meatballs and place them on to a nonstick cookie sheet or a cookie sheet which has been greased with extra-virgin olive oil. Bake the balls for about 10 to 12 minutes long until they are no longer pink inside.
Now you will want to heat a medium sized pot over a medium heat. Go ahead and add in your oil, garlic, crushed pepper, and onion. You want to Sauté this for about 6 minutes, or until all of the onion bits are soft. Now you will add in the beef stock, herbs, and crushed tomatoes. You will bring it to a simmer and then cook it for about 10 minutes. Take the meatballs and put them in the sauce. Roll them around so they get good and covered.
Once it is close to being done, you will want to cook a package of spaghetti according to the directions on the package. Drain the cooked spaghetti and put it on your plates. Now you can spoon the sauce and meatballs on top and serve the plates. This is a delicious meal that everyone will love.
Turn meatballs in remaining sauce. Place pasta on dinner plates and top with meatballs and sauce and extra grated cheese. Serve with bread or garlic bread (and some good chianti!)
